THE SIX PILLARS OF SELF-ESTEEM
Of all the judgments we pass in life, none are as important as the one we pass on ourselves
1. Living consciously...
...means being fully present to what we are doing while we are doing it.
2. Self-acceptance...
...is my willingness to own my emotions, my past actions without denial and without
badmouthing myself. It is freedom of consciousness.
3. Self-responsibility...
...means realising I am the author of my choices and actions. I am responsible for my life
and well-being and for the achievement of my desires.
4. Self-assertiveness...
...means honouring my needs, wants and values. To live authentically, to speak and act
from my innermost convictions and feelings – as a way of life.
5. Living purposefully...
...is to use our power for the attainment of goals we have selected. It is our goals that lead
us forward, that energize our existence.
...is the integration of ideals, convictions, standards, beliefs – and behaviour. Am I honest,
reliable and trustworthy? Do I keep my promises? Do I do the things I say I admire?
